1. Stay alert on Social Media scams

Please be aware of scams sent through WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media encouraging, inviting or requesting you to invest.


Avoid Unauthorised Transfers:

You should never transfer monies into any individual’s personal bank account or give cash to any individual as investment payment. All investment payments are required to be made payable to Manulife Investments' bank account.


Verify Communication:

Only trust communications from official Manulife Investments channels listed on our website.


Report Suspicious Activity:
If you encounter suspicious communications, contact our customer service immediately at (03) 2719 9271 (8:45 am - 5:30 pm, Mon-Fri) or email MY_CustomerService@manulife.com. You are advised to make police report of such suspicious messages.


2. How to verify the status of a unit trust adviser

We would like to encourage you to verify the registration status of a unit trust adviser through the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia “FIMM” website.

You may click on this link: https://www.fimm.com.my/search/ and key in the adviser’s name, FIMM No. or the NRIC/passport number.

Should you encounter any incident in which a person is carrying out the marketing of Manulife Investments' products and services without having a valid registration status with FIMM, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service at (03) 2719 9271 (8:45 am - 5:30 pm, Mon-Fri) or email MY_CustomerService@manulife.com.

 

3. Important notes on Online Security

Protect your Password

Your Password serves as an important key to establish your identity in the online environment. To safeguard and protect your Password, you should:

  • Keep your Password private and confidential. Do not disclose it to any other person.
  • Ensure no other person views your account information and Password while logging in to our online service.
  • Choose a strong and unique Password. Do not select a Password that is easy to guess, such as your identity card number, phone number, initials, date of birth or sequential characters (e.g. Abcd-1234) etc.
  • Change your PIN regularly, at least every 45 days.
  • Remember your Password. Do not write down or record it without disguising it.


Clear your browser's cache after each session
Temporary files stored in your device / equipment called cache files can retain information and data. Remember to clear the browser's cache and history after each session so that your account information is removed, especially if you are using a shared device / equipment.


Keep your device / equipment updated with the latest anti-virus and firewall updates
You should protect your device / equipment from viruses / malicious programs (e.g. Trojan Horses) which can destroy critical data. These programs can also capture your login keystrokes and personal information without your acknowledgement. To avoid your device / equipment getting infected, you should:

  • Equip and regularly update with the latest virus detection software and personal firewall to protect against virus attacks, hackers and malicious programs.
  • Do not download software from dubious websites. Delete junk / chain emails.
  • Avoid using programs which enable you to automatically get or preview files.
  • Always scan files by anti-virus software before executing them. They may contain malicious codes or viruses.


Use only devices / equipment that you trust
Never login to our online service from shared / public devices / equipment. This is because there can be keystrokes capturing applications that can log down your personal information.


Ensure authenticity of the website
Make sure you are connected to our official site www.manulifeim.com.my before logging in. A locked padlock appearing in the browser shows our site is secured with TLS technology. Notify us via our Customer Service hotline when a website claiming to originate from us looks suspicious to you.
 

Check your transaction history regularly
Check your transaction history regularly.  Notify us via our Customer Service hotline if you discover any errors or unauthorized transactions.
